Back at the Bazaar!

After a long, -long- hiatus from making jewellery, I'm back for the end of the year! Life has been very busy - I've been to China and Vietnam in the last few months for competition and performance, and work has been pretty hectic all told.

However, I'm determined to make an effort to put up new work and get the creativity going again. Thank you so much for your patience and your support - it means the world to me. :)

I'll be at Annexe Gallery for my first bazaar, together with the wonderful Sha's Accessories! It's the last Art for Grabs of 2010, so do come out and be prepared to get some wonderful Christmas deals for your Christmas shopping!

I'm going to have some signature chainmaille pieces available, as well as some sparkly surprises and new pieces. I'm excited about this, and nervous as well!

Shipping and Handling Policies

Packaging:

All my jewellery is packaged first in a ziplock bag to prevent tarnishing, and then in a red faux-suede pouch for storage. Items will all be shipped bubble-wrapped for protection.

Orders Within Malaysia:

Unless otherwise requested, all orders within Malaysia will be shipped via Pos Ekspres, and the tracking number will be provided when your order is sent to you. A flat rate of RM3.50 will be charged for shipping to both East and West Malaysia for all items under 250g. Additional charges may apply, depending on item size and actual weight of the package in question. I will communicate with you via email if any such additional charges are required.

If you wish to ship via Pos Laju, please note that shipping charges will be RM7 (West Malaysia) and RM8 (East Malaysia) for all items below 500g. Again, if any additional charges are required, I will communicate with you beforehand.

International Orders:

Please email me for international shipping charges, as these will vary from country to country.

These Gothic earrings with attitude are a variation on the Talisman earrings and were commissioned by a close friend. The design is very versatile and lends itself to lots of experimentation in both materials and text charms!

Talisman: Warding Earrings: 24ga and 19ga annealed steel wire, top-drilled pearls, lacquered shell discs, paper, acrylic paints, mixed metal findings.

Custom Gallery: Shakti Bracelet

Shakti: from the Sanskrit shak, 'to be able', meaning 'sacred force or empowerment'...

This bracelet was commissioned for a wonderful young lady's birthday present. Named for the spirit of creativity and empowerment, it incorporated her favourite colours of maroon and purple with the lustre of Argentium silver for a versatile yet distinctly personal piece.

Shakti: 18ga and 22ga Argentium silver, garnets, amethysts, Siam AB Swarovski crystal and Miyuki seed beads.

Sanctuary Necklace

This one-of-a-kind necklace was inspired by Joshua Kadison's beautiful song 'Sanctuary'. The earthy palette of colours - greens, occasional blues and golds and coppery browns - are reminiscent of earth and sky and oceans dappled by sunlight; very soothing and peaceful, just like a sanctuary of refuge. Perfect with a plain, elegant sheath dress or with jeans and a simple top - a unique touch of whimsy and colour! Sanctuary measures approximately 16.5" from top to dangle.

Sanctuary: 18ga and 22ga copper wire, 20ga silver-plated wire, felt, glass and acrylic seed beads, vintage faux bronze pearls, vintage gold beads, foil glass twist beads, brass bead caps, gauze ribbon, bugle beads, Swarovski black pearls, mixed metal findings, Czech fire polish crystals, faux green pearl, vintage crystal chaton montee.

Felt, wire and a variety of beads, all combined to make a beautiful focal and multi-stranded necklace.

A touch of gauze ribbon ruched with beads for a softer profile, and a lovely vintage green chaton montee for a little glimmer of colour.

This one-of-a-kind necklace was inspired by Marissa Nadler's beautiful ballad, 'Old Love Haunts Me In The Morning' - it just kept repeating inside my mind, begging to be translated into something wearable.

Old Love Haunts Me In The Morning: Vintage lucite and glass seed beads, vintage chaton montees, vintage faux pearls, Czech glass seed beads, brown glass foil twist beads, Siam Swarovski crystals, brass findings, purple shell pendant, 14ga sterling silver handmade clasp.

To me, old love fondly remembered is like a golden memory, and in the morning sunshine, it's even more vivid - hence the various tones of gold and burnished copper-bronze speckled through with scarlet to represent 'love'. I tried to incorporate a sense of 'haunting' into the gradual colour gradation from golden to deeper browns and purples, since old love, while beautiful, can sometimes bring with it a darker tone of regret and sadness. The Swarovski crystals and bright chaton montees are the 'sparkle' that accompanies the other half of such memories - the good times, and those that we would never exchange for anything else.

The occasional flash of pale green in the vintage lucite floral bead and chaton montee is reminiscent of the evergreen nature of fond memories.

Talisman: Hope Earrings

Like the silver lining of any proverbial cloud, these lovely little earrings are shot through with hints of blue sky and iridescent bubbles in the form of vintage blue seed beads and Miyuki teardrop beads. The word-charms, 'Seeing' and 'Think' are reminders that sometimes, a situation needs clear vision and a clear head to see one through the most trying times. These earrings measure just a little over 2" (5.5cm) from the top of their hand-crafted stainless steel earwires.

Perfect with jeans or a simple outfit that needs a touch of class and whimsy!

Wine Country Earrings

Memories of California during summertime provided the inspiration for these hammered, wire-wrapped leaf-shaped hoop earrings! Clusters of garnets and seed beads bring to mind bunches of luscious, ripe grapes ready for harvesting, and the warm copper wire gives just that necessary hint of sun. The hoops measure approximately 2" from top to dangle.

Inspired by Susie Derkins - Calvin's nemesis in Bill Watterson's evergreen Calvin and Hobbes strips. Feisty, intelligent and witty, her comic strip colour palette is both fun and feminine at the same time, reflected in these sweet little dangly earrings of copper, shell, glass and yarn.

They measure approximately just under 2" from the top of the earwires.
